IN THE SHED

PLOTTY and his wife took over their allotment in October 2005.

We inherited 300m of couch grass that had not been “worked” for over 3 years.

Within these pages we will show you how we transformed the plot from what it was then to how it is now.. If you have any questions or would like to speak with PLOTTY regarding our allotment please e-mail us at plotty28@gmail.com

A BIG hello to my long lost cousins from Quorn ~ Hi Ya

Our Mission:

Our chosen mission is to “Grow what we eat, not eat what we grow”. We don’t like, for example, radishes, so we are not going to grow them.

One of the greatest things you learn, once you become an “allotmenteer” is that everything you always thought you knew about fruit and vegetables can be thrown out of the window. A carrot is not necessarily orange and carrot shaped, an apple isn’t always a Golden Delicious and tomatoes can be white or even striped!

Recycling:

Apart from our 2 main sheds, everything on our plot has been made from recycled materials, most of which has been salvaged from our local scrapyard - TBD Morris Environmental of Loughborough.

Organic: We do not use any chemicals on our allotment.
